RENO RENO RENO

So we are almost all done.  Just a few pieces of quarter round to be put down and I need to finish the window treatment for the bathroom and decide what I am going to do in the kitchen.  No more work will be done on the house until after the holidays!

As promised, here are some before and after pics.

First the bathroom

Here is the after:

Here is the kitchen before:

We had already taken the white tile back splash off, hence the messy wall.

Now the new!

New sink, new counters and a fresh coat of paint!
Notice how nice and empty the counters are?  Well that lasted until I took the pictures.

And last but not least, Don and I would like to wish all of you a very merry Christmas and all the best for the coming year.

Sonoran Living Live

Yesterday I went with 3 other gals to Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix.  We had tickets to Sonoran Living Live.  This is a daily local show rather like The Marilyn Dennis show out of Toronto.  We left bright and early at 6:30 am not knowing what traffic would be like.  We arrived rather early and were able to get front row seats!  The show itself was done outside in the courtyard of the mall.  Well, remember I said it was freezing?  They had heaters but as we were in the front row, which was nice, we were a bit far from any warmth.  Being in the courtyard it was also shaded.

Accept for the fact we froze, we had a great time.  Every time they went to commercial, they brought out more food.  We had cucumber lemonade, beef tenderloin sliders, salsa and some sort of enchilada with nacho chips. We then had a large bowl of peppermint frozen yoghurt.  The did it, we all started shaking from the cold! Then they brought out boxes of personal size pizza which everyone used to warm their hands and that helped some.  For a dessert we all were given shot glasses with cheesecake it it.  Very nice.

There were all sorts of draws that none of our group won.   Included on our chairs was a small gift bag with some coupons for restaurants (not that any of us were hungry after!).

After the show we did some shopping and managed a late lunch after all.  One of the gals was taping the show so we could watch it later but alas, she had a senior moment and when she went to add two minutes to the taping, ended up only taping 2 minutes!  She even had a friend who was to tape it for a back up and he forgot as well!  Oh well.

Christmas fashions.  Poor anorexic girls were freezing.

Today was a lovely day, sunny and warm.  It was also our second tennis invitational.  What a great day.  Sorry no photos.

Heading out now to hopefully finish my Christmas shopping then Don and I are going to a movie.

It's cold down here!

It's freezing down here!  Literally, it is freezing!  It has gotten down to the freezing mark or below for several nights  now.  Monday was particularly nasty with high winds and rain off and on. Since then we have at least had sun.  That being said, the sun is warm and by mid morning, with a jacket, we are still out and about.

We had our second tennis social last night.  Great fun.  We had ham and scalloped potatoes made by the expert hands of the 3.5 team.  Also our Tennis after Dark group played a few Christmas toons.  Following that Peggy entertained us as well.  Great night.

It was a Christmas theme, what can I say?

Our singer Peggy, she's fab!

On another note, we have decided to to some major renovations.  So this month we will be getting a new, shower, sink and vanity, bathroom flooring.  Also new kitchen counters and sink.  There has been a promise made by the contractor that it will be in before Christmas.  You know how that goes...When it is all done I will put in some before and after pics.
